This album isn’t released until November 2nd however, I have had the opportunity to preview it. There are 16 tracks on this album and not one is poor.. I’m going to give my overview of what I feel are the standout tracks (my opinion)
Okay so D Tail leads you into a false pretence with the start of his first track of the album titled “Wow” which is pretty much what most of you will think when listening to the album .. this track is produced by Marley D and really sets the standard for the album (HIGH), which is what should be happening with intro tracks. Although the track is only 1 minute 42 seconds long, D Tail utilises the short space of time to display some fine lyricism.. Great opener..
Too weird features Raggz, this track is class and both D Tail and Raggz bring the fire to a petrol covered beat.. explosive.
Then we move on to “Mahogany”.. now I don’t know about you but whenever I see or hear this word I think of furniture, strong, sturdy and well put together furniture, which is actually quite coincidental because this track is strong, sturdy and well put together.. lovely bit of Japanese at the start followed by “didn’t understand a word that I said, better learn Japanese or its off with ya head” - not gonna lie, I spent about 13 minutes 21 seconds trying to translate it before giving up haha! Turkish Dcypha brings a chilled vibe with the beat.. Literally creased at the end part “I do have a desk though!”
Next up comes “Happy Accident” yet another track with a display of D Tail’s bilingual ability, this track is dope, the way the verses are structured and written is brilliantly done.. delivery is key and D Tail leaves no door locked with this track. The beat by Herda Vim (another class name heard of him, brilliant haha) is the icing on this cake..
Hold on, hollllld on.. no, literally hold on.. to your seat.. “I got bars” .. D Tail smashes the entry to this track, double timing delivery and the bars just go to show HE GOT BARS.. this beat got destroyed, someone better organise this beats funeral.. in fact make it a cremation cause this beat’s been burnt!! And to top it all off.. who adds to the cremation of the beat!? None other than Britizen Kane, one of my favourite artists! This guy’s consistency of dopeness is ridiculous and always brings extra to the track, well he does just that on this and smashes the 3rd verse.. definitely would love to hear more DT and BK work, both complement each other’s styles! Can I get a FLAME EMOJI PULEASEEEE In fact have a few more Not to forget Marley D providing another SICK beat!
Haha now I dunno if the next verse was an interlude or what but The Kaz had me in stitches with the “fingers in the fanny hole” line at the end
Okay so next track is probably my favourite of the album due to the sheer articulation of the verses, the internal rhymes mixed with the multis, honestly is pure ear porn, the verses are written and delivered with perfect precision.. “Ballance___Munchies” LISTEN TO THE BEAUTY!!! No wonder he calls himself D Tail with the amount of detail he puts into his bars.
He say she say.. if your a female, you need at least a B cup to enjoy this track (reference: D Tail’s bars) .. story time with this one, yet again another intricately performed track, the verses are class.. i love the hook and the way Jayde ad-libs D Tail’s rhyming words from the start of the second verse, this adds another element to the track.. 1 of my favourite tracks! Turkish DCypha with another class beat!
Credits(misleading title).. track is hard as fuck.. almost as annoying as your favourite Netflix series leaving you on a proper cliff hanger, like to be continued, how can you do this to me, I can’t wait for more GIVE IT ME NOW.. you got me fiending for more D Tail, you could have gone softly softly on the ending but noooooo, here’s a banging verse to finish with so it leaves you to go cold turkey until my next release haha.. seriously man.. what the fuck! Dope as fuck
But then what does he do.. he brings it back with “the cypher 1.5” .. and he’s only got Joel fucking Ortiz to feature on it.. yeah I’m done, literally if props/credit/kudos were my souls D Tail has just drained it from my body. . I don’t know what else to say.. speechless (first time in my life).
All in all this album was a pleasant surprise because I haven’t heard anything from D Tail before but I tell you this now, this guy has earned huge respect from me from this release, the intricacy of the verses, delivery and structure alone kill it..
If you are looking for a dope album, this right here is what you need in your playlist.
