Okay, so where to start.. here we have a track performed by none other than my boy Wilstar, the track is called ‘I DKW’ which means “I Don’t Know Why” to all those that ain’t on there acronym flex, acronyms are cool, get with it.
Anyway.. I DO know why.
I know why this song is an instant banger, it’s visuals are pleasantly simple yet eye catching and it’s structured beautifully.
Let me go a little in depth..
This track takes you on a little journey, if you close your eyes, envision it’s the summer, Chilling at the beach, at the park, chilling wherever, this track is for THAT moment right there, good times.. Yes, yes we know most tracks on the commercial flex are based around the same thing.. money, women, cars and the rest of the cliché topics you can think of HOWEVER, Wilstar somehow manages to make it sound new and different, we like new and different, don’t we?, yes we do (rhetorical question).
From the off you catch a glimpse of some of the many outfits Wilstar is wearing throughout the video in a small flicker, it’s the little things like this that catch the eye and remember this, it’s the small strokes of the paint brush that create the bigger picture and this does just that. The visuals are simple yet satisfying from start to finish.
The instrumental produced by SEEO Beats, fits perfectly with the theme/concept, nice build up at the start falling straight into the hook, which might I add is catchy as fuck, literally had the tune in my head ALL day after listening, guess that’s why it’s called a hook!
Wilstar styles this track perfectly, the lyrics and vocal tones make it for easy listening, I don’t usually get on with this style of music but genuinely, I rate this track highly.
Great use of a clever little marketing strategy within the visuals as well with the merchandise which might I add looks dope as (gonna cop some of that for sure) with a range of different colours and styles.
All in all this track is the whole package and Wilstar has done himself proud, I look forward to hearing what he has for us next time!
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
